May in DFW is honestly one of the sweetest times of year — the energy is high, the evenings are warm, and the Metroplex has an incredible lineup of events to match. From spicy food festivals to Broadway shows, LEGO sculptures to Cajun crawfish boils, this month is packed with reasons to get out and enjoy everything this area has to offer. Mayfest

Kick off the month with one of Fort Worth's most beloved community traditions! Mayfest takes over 33 gorgeous acres of Trinity Park along the river for four days of live music, festival food, carnival rides, performing arts, pet adoptions, and over 100 Art and Gift Market vendors. There's a full slate of free children's activities and special attractions that make it a fantastic outing for the whole family. Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Artisan Circle

Fort Worth knows how to throw a party, and this Cinco de Mayo celebration on Crockett Street is proof! Artisan Circle closes the street for a full outdoor festival featuring a vibrant vendor market curated by Cultura Markets, street-style tacos and elote, live mariachi entertainment, Ballet Folklórico performances, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. La Cabrona is offering an all-you-can-eat buffet inside for $35 per person, and drink specials will be flowing all afternoon. If you haven't seen WICKED yet, this is your sign — and if you have, you already know why it's worth seeing again. It's one of the biggest crawfish boils in all of North Texas, and the community energy here is absolutely infectious. Historic Downtown Grapevine is the perfect backdrop for a festival, and Main Street Fest delivers every single year. Now in its 42nd year, this beloved three-day event is packed with live music, delicious food, a KidZone, carnival rides, a midway, the Grapevine Art Project Market, and some truly fantastic shopping and dining along one of North Texas's most charming main streets. It's the kind of event that feels like a small town tradition and a big city festival all rolled into one — and it's a wonderful reminder of what makes the DFW suburbs such special places to live. It's one of those experiences that's completely unlike anything else in DFW, and themed weekends keep it fresh no matter how many times you've been.
